I am a newb, so take my advice with a grain of salt.  But it looks like you
aren't trying to correct a mistake that you made, it just isn't working in
the first place.

Does that matter?  It looks like LP already has an orig.tar.gz regarding
the package you are working with.  Have you tried getting the orig.tar.gz
from the QT5 daily ppa, and using that file with your debuild command
(instead of where ever else you are getting the orig.tar.gz)?

My understanding is that debuild doesn't really care what orig.tar.gz you
give it, it will create a patch that makes it turn into your desired source
upload.
