Dear List

If the list adopts the attitude of 'if it's not broke then don't try to fix it' we'll all be ok.

As a regular list reader and contributor (when I rarely know an answer), this list has saved me many hours of needless pain.

The list works well at the moment with very rarely a spam / nuisance email sneaking its way onto the list and that person being removed very quickly. This is in contrast to the many emails I'm sure we all receive daily about refinancing our home loan or modifying part of our anatomy.

I look on the list as a technical resource and we all need to ensure it stays that way.

If somebody wishes to set up a web based list or newsgroup so we can have countless emails regarding our long lost Uncle in some far away country in Africa who has too much money, then start a new list/newsgroup etc and get your own users / contributors Who knows maybe even some contibutors from Info LabVIEW - although I would doubt many.

Tom set up Info LabVIEW with great foresight. We all belong to it because it performs the task we require.

We all (including NI) owe Tom a great deal of thanks. Countless problems as well as many useful contacts have been made during his tenure as Info LabVIEW moderator. Hopefully this continues in the future under the guidance of the new moderator.

Listers
For what it's worth, given that I'm not currently a heavy LabVIEW user or
list "presence", I echo Rolf's position. Info-LabVIEW has always been a
convenient, spam-free on-topic email folder on my desktop. Whenever I want
I can go browse through the recent postings, delete threads of no interest,
and read those of interest, current or weeks-old. I have no interest in a
newsgroup. Turn it into an unmoderated flame-forum and I'm unsubscribed -
in a flash. In the last 10 years (wow, that long?) this has been THE most
useful technical forum I've been involved in, bar none - Kudos to Tom, and
the well-behaved members of the list.
