I don't know that HCFA is working on the problem or not. I am not sure what
agency would control this access issue. I certainly have not brought it to
anyone's attention. I think that this is a consumer driven industry and the
patients would have to complain before anything would be done. Doctors are
just the pawns of the insurance agency and the insurance companies only care
about consumer satisfaction, and their own bottom line. I don't think any
of these HMO's are interested in quality care and they certainly do not give
a whit what the physicians think. Ron
