I am fairly sure that I am not moving the mouse with the double click - the cursor doesn't move, and I would expect double click to work some of the time if this was the issue. You are right about it being related to mouse movement - if I move the working mouse too much duing the double click it gives the partial word selection. (Note that I am comparing two mice, one of them from Wacom. A pen is indeed very difficult to double click with.)

Actually probably not order of events, check if it has anything to do

There seems another issue that causes mouse move to be accepted (where
it should not)

use your normal mouse (or the pen, but ensure, you do not move / not
even a single pixel)

- doubleclick, and keep the 2nd click (do not release the mouse button).
- now move the mouse, It acts like it was a single click (extending or
shrinking the selected area to follow the mouse)

Hi all,
I just wanted to know whether anybody using the Lazarus gtk2 "flavor"
(any recent 0.9.27) is experiencing a problem with double-clicks on
the source editor just selecting to the beginning of the word but not
to the end/right?

Best regards,
Flávio

I also have this problem. In fact I have two mice connected to my
computer, and I see the effect with one (a wacom tablet mouse that I
prefer) but not the other (a more standard mouse). This behaviour
started relatively recently, so it suggestes the gtk2 routines are
more sensitive than they should be to the order of events.
