That is a sore point. We only found that after we did our implementation. :-(
Is the FPC+Lazarus port usable? Project status on wiki says "beta", but so
does Lazarus IDE. ;-)

Well,it is usable but need improvements and *mostly* automated testing
set (fpcunit based) - because each fpc/lazarus change breaks some code
tricks.I have added locking to hdd drive serial but as I not need this
package yet, I'm not working on other improvements.
