That applies to "look & feel" only. They have to reimplement widgets for each new platform they want to support, hunt for bugs in the common LCL code and each platform's backend code etc... All things a custom drawn widgetset doesn't need to worry about. See, both options have there pros and cons. :-) Anyway, we are totally off-topic here. ;-) This thread was meant to address the lack of a stable Lazarus (IDE and LCL).
