I used to think the same as you described. But a few months ago, we
needed to outsource the beginning development work of a new product, and
it had to be written in Object Pascal. I also thought we were going to
strugle to find developers for Object Pascal.

I posted the ads in the FPC and Lazarus mailing lists. I got about 30
responces in 3 days, and about another 20 or so over another 7 day
period. I could pick and choose who I wanted. There is NO shortage of
Object Pascal developers as far as I'm concerned.

We are living in a "global environment", where you can outsource work to
anywhere, or work remotely with no hassles. It's time HR starts thinking
outside the box (or should I say outside the Office)!

But it isn't that easy if you don't want to outsource something, but need a new employee in the company...
