ummm... as i understand it, startlazarus starts lazarus and then if lazarus compiles a new version of itself (tools->build lazarus with profile X) which has the option to restart after the compile finishes set to true, then startlazarus catches this and starts lazarus back up... if startlazarus is terminated after starting lazarus then this functionality will be lost...
