The Lazarus IDE knows how to tell lhelp to change page or shut down.

Finally, I'm not sure if the native .chm viewer is distributed with
Windows anymore or packaged with an IDE or optional update.
I suppose the real issue is how many layers of proprietary and
non-portable technology would have to be pulled into the project to make
it work. At which point it would probably be simpler to enhance lhelp.
