Actually I am quite happy with the launch time of IDE. It takes about 3
seconds on my new mid-range laptop and 4 seconds on my old laptop from 2007.
The coolbar/editortoolbar are definitely not the bottleneck. Changing
desktops is pretty fast. I don't think it's worth the effort.
