Hi
I think using eclipse will make lazarus development much faster ...
Is this what you say faster?
"When I opened Fedora's native Eclipse I noticed my laptop became slow
and unresponsive, and the CPU usage skyrocketed to 100%. Eclipse took a
very long time to open (I didn't measure, but I estimate it took about a
minute). Even after opening, the laptop was still unresponsive, and the
CPU usage was still at 100%."

I'd also once a look at eclipse (on an Athlon 2600+ 512 MB) and I don't
understand how one can work productive with eclipse. Maybe that's the
reason why eclipse is so popular at big companies: you don't have to
work because the IDE is so slow :)))
It seems Eclipse is popular, and I have tried it a couple of times to
see what all the fuss is about, but I could never figure out where all
the RAD features are or how you add them on. There are no component
toolbars or menus. To me it looks like it is and was designed as just an
IDE package without being RAD. Lazarus is fine the way it is.
