Well, it seems it is not possible to make the tabs horizontal painted on
the left (right) side of TPageControl component. I'll try to make a
custom component to have that feature.

You need to use a TTF font, like Arial or Tahoma. Ms Sans Serif
(default usually) is not rotatable.
Checked on D7 + XP: I alos gan get MS Sans Serif sideways (indeed in
the earlier days this was not possible)
