Hello,

I just noticed that one of the widget options for Lazarus is GNOME. I just wonder if there is a library called Gnome for user interface development. I googled and searched the wikipedia, but I could not find any reliable information that a library called gnome exists.

When the initial widgetsets were setup, there existed something like a gnomelib. All standard dialogs and iirc it had also a (more advanced) list and treeview.

Of course I am familiar with the gnome desktop. Does anyone know what gnome widget means?? Is it really working / active??

Initially it did, it inherits from the gtk widgetset.

If not maybe we should substitute it with something else.

No need to substitute. If you need a new widgetset, one can be added.
