I'm not using more than that, as you! What I do is using the fpc rpms
from lazarus at sourceforge (they install clean with packages above
installed before)

? fpc_crosswin32-2.0.2-060121.i386.rpm (this I have never seen)
and for lazarus itself the source (tar or zip, I don't remember). This
is untared (or unzipped) e.g. to /opt/lazarus. (after doing this as
root you have to change the ownership to your working user). As user I
cd'ed to /opt/lazarus. Running ./make clean all. Starting Lazarus as
./lazarus.
Only the menu item in gnome/KDE is missing then. But it works and it
is very easy to update to daily builds.
