I am still here, day three and I am still looking for the compiler
path. I have reinstalled FreePascal. Lazarus and Lazarus is still not
happy with /usr/local/lib/fpc/2.0.4/units/i386-linux/rtl/ which is
where locate system.ppu says it is, the FPC source directory
The fpc.cfg says :
Fu/usr/local/lib/fpc/$fpcversion/units/$fpctarget
-Fu/usr/local/lib/fpc/$fpcversion/units/$fpctarget/*
-Fu/usr/local/lib/fpc/$fpcversion/units/$fpctarget/rtl

That's good. It just contains no sources.

What is wrong?

The 'FPC source directory' is a directory, where you put the
FPC sources. It contains for example the file compiler/version.pas. You
have to download them separately or install the debian package fpc-src.

I found the Debian site and there are fifteen .DEB files, none with fpc.src (http://public.planetmirror.com/pub/fpc/dist/i386-linux-2.0.4/deb/) which one do I want? Not all I hope?
