Because there will be no more Win32 API use from Microsoft in the future. See article (from some years ago) on Borland community website by vice-president and others explaining how they almost lost the Win32 train (they had a nice DOS product, Turbo/Borland Pascal) and that they wouldn't lose the .NET train now. All future applications for Windows will have managed .NET APIs etc. and you won't be able to interoperate with them easily from your app if you don't support .NET. Eventually Win32 API will die off (even though MS tends to keep on supporting old APIs for years for existing customers to not leave to other vendors [I like it they do so]) ---------------- George Birbilis ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Computer & Informatics Engineer Microsoft MVP J# for 2004-2006 Borland "Spirit of Delphi" ++ QuickTime, Delphi, ActiveX, .NET components ++ http://www.kagi.com/birbilis ++ Robotics ++ http://www.mech.upatras.gr/~Robotics http://www.mech.upatras.gr/~robgroup _____ avast!
