Hi Michael,
It might be a good idea to base fpIMG on the FPImage support in the FCL. If you look at it carefully, you'll see that that is not so hard to do.
I'll study the FPImage class shortly. I have previously thought of using the FPCanvas class, and am still thinking about it. That is also why we were careful when we renamed the classes, not to have a conflict with the FCL classes, if we ever wanted to use them some how. Then again, now is the time to make such changes, as later it will just become more difficult. Felipe is currently talking about making changes to the Image support classes, I'll mention it to him (if he doesn't already read this). We are currently working hard on getting the base of fpGUI as portable, efficient and easy to use. Doing that all now and then start building on more widgets. I'll move this discussion to the fpGUI newsgroup, as I don't think the Lazarus mailing list is the correct place to discuss this.
I contacted the original author with the question to do this, but as you no doubt know, he's rather difficult to get hold of :-)
When did you try and contact him? I sent him a courtesy email a few months back, just to say that I revived his original work, but didn't even get an acknowledgment. I guess no answer is a answer as well. -- Graeme Geldenhuys Location: S 34° 03.168' E018° 49.342' http://tinyurl.com/y6lc26 There's no place like 127.0.0.1 _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject archives at http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/mailarchives
