The question is whether a guy like me should go for OOP. Will it help me
in the long and short run? Sometimes I feel the pressure of developing
alone, that too in pascal and PHP, and due to the code I written over

Developing alone is not always easy. Hence the reason I use mailing

I might not have thought off.
As for your question if you should go for OOP. Well, I used both
approaches, but now only use OOP, except for really small utility
apps. For me it is the better way to go and it fits perfectly with my
style of coding. I like to unit tests everything and the RAD approach
makes this near impossible. The secret to moving to OOP is to take
small steps at a time. If you go to fast, you will get frustrated!
After a while you will start seeing solutions to problems in Objects.
There is actually a thread about this exact question on the Borland
newsgroups at the moment.
Search (using Google Groups or you favourite NG reader) the following newsgroup:
borland.public.delphi.oodesign
The threads title is: "how to really start oop?" dated 2007-01-11 by
Lucian. You will find that thread very interesting I think.
