BTW: If you are on Windows then maybe you have old
svn2revisioninc.exe
?
I have revision displayed as Unknown in Lazarus about but after
rebuild svn2revisioninc.exe it returns to proper SVN
revision number.
I didn't rebuild. Just got the last source update and then at
next update it conflicted
Now that I think of it again, I might have rebuilt first, then updated and
saw the conflict
Shouldn't I be getting the svn2revision.exe from Laz svn? Or is it in
Tortoise SVN? I don't have latest version of it cause I can't uninstall
existing version (bad MSI of tt, had renamed/deleted the installer of it
and
now I can't uninstall cause it searches the installer at its original
location - have to kill it using the registry)
Rebuilding lazarus to install a component or to rebuild it to get the new
sources in is already enough. At that point the revision.inc is ALWAYS
rebuilt afaik.
People running a pristine SVN source tree on their machine will never get
a conflict because both versions are the same. But when you have changes
in the sourcetree then the versions will always be different.
As to the deletion of revision.inc. I tried to compile lazarus after
deleting revision.inc and the svn2revisioninc executable and it worked
without problems. Lazarus recompiles the svn2revisioninc tool and creates
the revision.inc file. Seems reason enough not to expect any issues from
deletion afterwards.
You are willing to handle the support?
Vincent
