This is not what Felipe is saying.  The TrollTech license states (see the KB
articles that Felipe quoted) that if you develop with the free one, you
can't switch to the commercial license lateron.

So that would force use to either remain entirely GPL, or take the whole
port proprietary.  Since Lazarus itself is GPL that latter might not even be
possible.
