I know. I'd discussed about this with Paul Ishenin on the other previous thread. :)

(Personally I prefer stability and not a moving target where you have to find out what surprised tomorrow will bring)

Fixes branch is different from development branch. I believe fixes branch has relative smaller risk of surprise factors, though somehow it still possible. This is due fixes branch (as the name implies) is to fix bugs which are still left in stable release.

In practice the fpc fixes branch is also the development branch between major releases. A lot of minor features are also merged into it.
