It can be done, but is not so simple...

The nustshell is to measure somehow the few required patches
and operate the monitor profiler in "advanced mode"

You need to measure the XYZ of pure red, green and blue
plus a gray scale of 10-12 patches. Then, store these measurements
in a IT8 sheet and feed the monitor profiler with that.

How to measure these patches is another story. Without any
special intrumentation, I'm afraid this is impossible. You could try
to do it by a calibrated camera, but the error will rise to intolerable
levels.

Anyway, if you can measure these patches, CIECAM will give
a nice appearance using dark surround.
