I totally agree with this. In addition to the above, I should mention that lcms (and perhaps argyll) make color management transforms so trivial to implement that except for color managing the display, adding the transform parts is very easy.


The *hard* part is capturing the experience from color management professionals (i.e. users) and automating that experience in order to support the capabilities experienced professionals need and expect. This part does not require any programming expertise at all.

There is a big difference between a transform engine (e.g. lcms) and a full-blown color management *system*.
