Hi, playing with the cmyk -> cmyk conversion, it turned out that the K channel is mostly preserved. Marti, thanks for this helpful feature.
This is sometimes a good decission. In the results, while a linear colour space like ISO coated (ECI) shows a pure CMY black very dark and neutral, my physical proofer (EpsonStylus3000) shows there a very bad cast. And with backpreservation turned on this becomes a huge color shift in the ISO coated -> EpsonStylus3000 transformation. What are the experiences of others? As the current behaviour is desireable for highly analytic work, a switch would be welcome to be not that hard with the blackpreservation, allowing a soft transition from total blackpreservation to introduction of K colour where appropriate (for originally CMY only colours) - to preserve appearance. regards Kai-Uwe Behrmann + development for color management + imaging / panoramas + email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] + http://www.behrmann.name ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
