Hi,

I am writing some software that takes L*a*b* data and converts it
to RGB in sRGB space using the LCMS modules to do this. It seems quite
straight forward and I have compared the results with the sample icctrans
and it appears at first correct. My observations are (this is based on
using the sRGB output profile):

1) Values using Rendering Intent of Perceptual, Relative Colorimetric and
Saturation all yield the same results. Absolute is usually different.
2) Changing the white point in the cmsCreateLabProfile to use D65 instead
of D50 doesn't produce different results for Perceptual, Relative
Colorimetric and Saturation but does for absolute. I would expect some
differences but I don't see them.

I have tried comparing my results with other Color Calculators and I am
unable to get agreement. (Bruce Lindbloom's and Easy RGB don't allow me
change intents, I can change illuminants). I recognize that the values
won't necessarily be exact but I would expect smaller differences than I
am encountering. I just want to make sure that I am using the LCMS
modules correctly and the results are what should be expected. I am
including a crude C console app I have written to do the testing. If you
see any glaring mistakes or you can help me with my understanding I will
be very grateful.

Regards,

Bob
