Hi Christian,

Fixed in GIT. That was a very elusive bug, it shows when computed K tone
curves in black preservation are sligtly non-monotonic.
I've checked a number of images and now seems to be working.

Many thanks for reporting
Regards
Marti

Subject: [Lcms-user] BlackPreservation/BlackPointCompensation Issue

I use lots of multi-profile-transforms and I discovered a bug in a special
configuration in which BlackPreservation and BlackPointCompensation is
involved.

Try this, for example (the connection is without deep meaning – it’s just
for showing the bug)

CMYK->CMYK, 8 Bit samples, Profilcount=4, HiresPrecalc=true,
RI=relativeIntent

ISOCoated->ISOcoatedISOnewspaper26v4.icc>ISOnewspaper26v4.icc->ISOcoated.icc

If you turn off BlackPreservation, all is fine.

If you turn on BlackPreservation AND BlackPointCompensation, it’s all fine.

If you turn on BlackPreservation BUT BlackPointCompensation off, it crashes
with following error:

Assertion failed: (Curve != ((void *)0)), file
c:\mms\pps_6_0_develop\lib\mmsicc

\littlecms\src\cmsgamma.c, line 1058

This error occurs ONLY, if you use the ISOnewspaper26v4 in the middle. If
you use other CMYK Profiles, it’s ok as far as I’ve tested. But since I need
newspaper in the middle and it’s sort of ‘standard-profile’, it’s
(hopefully) worth to be examined.

Has anybody an idea about that?

I use the latest git version dated 12-april-2011

Chris
