How nice for you, that in your application there is only one client that will ever query your directory and you control its design. Some are not so fortunate. Getting everyone in the world who designs LDAP clients to conform to my specifications for object relationships sounds impractical. Whether relationships should be maintained externally or internally would seem to depend on the nature of the problem being addressed.
