Just one hint (which I belatedly thought of) regarding the padl.com libraries and Solaris: Be sure to use the shipped version of Berkeley DB when building the padl.com things (if at all possible). Else you will end up with two incompatible bdb Versions within the same address space for every Solaris program that uses bdb itself and then maps the pam_ldap library - no fun. The case might not come up but don't bank on it. I do hope that Solaris 9/10 comes with header files for its preferred bdb libraries (8 didn't).
