Which standard says 'cn' is the fullname? RFC2256: 5.4. cn This is the X.500 commonName attribute, which contains a name of an object. If the object corresponds to a person, it is typically the person's full name. These persons are typically known by their "title + surname", while call them with "title + fullname" is also acceptable. We have a business directory service, not a company HR management service so whenever we mention their names we always mention with title. If I haven't read the "standard" or haven't noticed it says "typically", I would have gone ahead changed cn to be "title + fullname" and not further trouble the people on the list by keep asking stupid questions... --- You are currently subscribed to ldap@umich.edu as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word UNSUBSCRIBE as the SUBJECT of the message.
