Is there an LDAP directory available on the internet to connect to for
LDIF's and practicing?
There used to be more than today. But still there are some left:
http://web2ldap.de/demo.html#examples
Or the select list on the start page of the application:
http://demo.web2ldap.de:1760/web2ldap
Needless to say you shouldn't generate too much load on these servers.
Some of these LDAP servers are dedicated to very specific purpose e.g.
in a PKI. Also anonymous access won't reveal all information stored
therein. So your mileage will(!) vary.
Ciao, Michael.
You can also install Apache Directory Studio
(http://directory.apache.org/studio/), which include the Apache
Directory Server (a LDAP server), and laos has LDIF editor with colored
syntax and syntax checking.
Creating a running LDAP server, connect to it and play with it can be
done in one minute.
Give it a try.
