My own 2 pence worth on this issue Any computer using MLS stays off the internet. When changes are made, it connects via a direct-dial VPN to Sollihole (or however they spell the UK's records place). Nothing goes out over the 'net.
We've got a wifi connection at the chapel as well, but that's only for the Family History computers. But that's a moot point as our phone lines are a mess, our phone bill went to the wrong address, and our broadband is nonexistant. Ain't technology great? -Richard > > As I understand the Handbook of Instructions and the directives to the > Stake Clerk the computer on which MLS is installed is NOT (my emphasis) to > be attached to the internet (or any other publicly accessable network). > > Your description does not contain sufficient information to determine if > what you have is an intranet link or an internet link.
