I've used YaBB before. It is easy to use except some add-ons require
programming knowledge in PERL. I'm not sure how well you could get it
to work with images directly, especially the automatic thumbnail
creation, without an add-on or some extra programming in PERL. I have
looked at some options, and you could use a bulletin board in
conjunction with something like WebMagick or phpWebAlbum. Use WebMagick
or phpWebAlbum to manage the photo albums and then use the bulletin
board of your choice for the communication posts. Just an idea.
