To tell you the truth it is not hard to write "screen scraping" tools. In fact, there are many perl modules that make this very easy. If evil mormon multi-level marketeers really wanted the data and have an account on Lds.org then they can get it with out too much effort. > Two possibly worth noting (and sharing) are: > > A diff tool that compares registered LDS.org members' preferred names and > email addresses with the same fields in MLS. MLS comes with a Palm export, but these vCards are a bit more > versatile. Yes, I agree that vCard's are much easier to import into Outlook, Palm, Mac Addressbook, etc. My membership directory export script formats in either vCards or a tab seperated text file (for like excel). On the subject of MLS, I was asked by the stake presidency if I could find a way to generate a report that includes the dates of the last priesthood advancements, endowments and sealings of members. (Our stake presidency would like to make sure members are being advanced in the priesthood, endowed, seal, etc.) While you can see this information when you bring up an individual's record you can't get this information when you do an export, or at least I have not seen a way to do it. Does anyone know how one might generated such a report or get at the data so I could write a simple script that generates a report with this information? Thanks in advance, -stacey. _______________________________________________ Ldsoss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ldsoss.org/mailman/listinfo/ldsoss
