I was considering writing an application very similar to this, the twist I came up with was making the photos configurable, so that the parent could say put in pictures of family who's name starts with that letter. I thought that might make it a little easier for some kids since they know names of people, plus it might help them become more familiar with their family at a younger age. I would DEFINITELY be interested in helping out in any way I could.
