Call into Church Headquarters and they should be able to get you restored in a few minutes. I'm a stake clerk and had a similar thing happen to me. I believe that on a send/receive that MLS performs a backup, so it probably has a recent one that you can restore. That worked in my case, but call into the help desk.
I think my problem arose when I tried to stop a send/receive non-gracefully.

>>> "Sean McMullin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 6/18/2006 11:56:44 PM >>> hi all, I realise the OSS group is not *about* the MLS software. But the FAQ here is the only source of decent technical information I've found, so I'm hoping someone here can point me toward an answer. I was called last week as the technical specialist in our stake, and literally an hour later got a call from a ward where they have lost all username/password information. That is, when one opens MLS, looks at the login screen, and clicks on the little magnifying glass icon to see the list of usernames, there is simply nothing there. And yes, I have tried typing in a valid login, to no avail. Nothing is recognised. They have been using the software (2.2.1) since its release and have had no problems. And, of course, they have no idea why the usernames disappeared. I would just go ahead and uninstall/reinstall, but the last backup they did was four months ago. Perhaps they should just learn a hard lesson, but even so, I'd like to find out why no one can log on anymore. There are no registry entries pointing to user/pass info, and nothing in the install log that sheds any light on this. TIA, Sean _______________________________________________ Ldsoss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ldsoss.org/mailman/listinfo/ldsoss ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
