Short of picking up a new drive (you can get 250 GB for $100 at Sam's Club these days), my suggestion would be to go with one of the RAID arrangements you've listed, install Linux, and run your Windows + PAF in VMWare within Linux. Given that you can get either VMWare Player or VMWare Server for free, and it's fairly easy to find or create a blank virtual machine where you can install your Windows, that should take care of things well. There is one caveat, of course: as far as I know, VMWare still doesn't support DirectX for gaming. Neither does any other virtual machine system.
