Minor caveat, I live in the UK, and I can get a 250GB drive for £50 or so, but
that's £50 that I don't have to throw at the system. Heck, it already needs
a new Video card, and I'd like to put in a DVB-T card so I've got Mythtv as
an option, so there's another £50, so to get the system where I'd ideally
want it, I'd need over £300 so.. um yeah money I don't have. Might do after
the move is finished and we're settled, but that's going to take a while.

I've not really considered the Vmware player route. I suppose it could work,
but I guess I'll need to do some reading about how to get vmware player to
actually install WinXP.

I've got Cedega for DirectX, and as I don't play that many games anyhow, I
don't need to keep up a transgaming subscription. What I've got works fine
under Cedega... well, worked until my card blew out it's 3d core or something
weird like that... It still displays fine and at my preferred resolution
(1280x1024, any higher res hurts my eyes), but 3d doesn't work anymore.
Weird that.
