Ah, but try: open Windows Explorer and double-click on *.lrp <crash>
*.lrp not understood.
Easier to use *.tgz - not only that, but anyone seeing one of these
files in any environment would probably instantly know what kind of
file it was. If it's a *.lrp, this is NOT the case...

bzip2 is supposed to be pretty good; why not use root.tgz and all the
rest are *.bgz or whatever the standard is.... but then, there
probably isn't any. The zip code for root.tgz is contained within the
kernel, so you could actually remove gzip and use bzip2. The only
problem is you couldn't modify root.tgz ...
