I saved more than you... I used an exacto knife I already had lying
around. I thought the 3.5" floppy format was a conspiracy by the disk
manufacturers. And I refused to use CDs for about 5 years... not
writable. Having the ability to load unlimited junk on your hard disk and
not be able to easily back it up. I never have been able to get a
comfortable ability to do full backups since, either. The closest we came
was a DAT tape drive, but we discovered that most of the data we backed up
on it was not readable because the heads got dirty so fast.
At this point, I only backup my data, and do a full re-install of system
or application software if it comes to that. The days of being able to
duplicate a disk (swap, swap, swap, swap...) and have an exact full
system backup are fading in my memory now.

Hmm... well, I was using them in an antiquated old college lab, so I guess
we didn't get the good stuff.
