I was going to suggest that you check the Oxygen kernels for one; but I
can't find one either. What IS this module that no one seems to have
compiled for it?
I went back and looked at it. The kernel configuration mentions the
Racal-Interlan (Micom) NI cards, which support cannot be put into a
module (though the specific cards can be). The cards are the NI5010,
NI5210, and NI6510 (which last is what the module ni65.o is for).
Seems as if No One compiled for this (I didn't). How did it get missed?
Personally, if you have the ability to compile a kernel (such as under
Red Hat) I'd compile your own kernel, remove support for everything you
don't need, and put NI6510 support directly into the kernel. You can
also use upx to compress the kernel further.
If you've the space, I'd get 2.2.19 (don't override your own kernel),
apply two patches for LRP and one for Openwall, then compile it.
If you can put in support for everything you need, and it won't change
much, you can even remove support for dynamically loaded kernel modules,
which increases security yet further - except you need to recompile if
you want to add support for new hardware or functions.
