I got it, thank you.

Actually I did not much of a research on the electronics, just trying to 
find out where they went with the bloody pin 62 of the IDE controller chip. 
I placed a request with SST and Apacer to tell me where the lead goes to. 
In my case the R8 position on the module is just left empty, I hope that 
this is the place where they normally put the jumper. This is the only 
place where I could see a possibility to still hand-solder a jumper to. All 
other places are just too small for a non SMT shop. If (what I hope) they 
just jumpered pin 62 to pin 30 on the IDE socket, then building a cable 
adapter with the lead 30 taken out to a switch would be really easy.

Should you know more about the modules please let me know.
