I was hoping to find the official list of support software and versions required along with any rough documentation for 09x. So far I have not received a response. I think you mentioned that a later version of php is required with 09x. If so does a SF support request need to be created now to prepare for the eventual use of 09x?

I have been monitoring the fallout forum. 09x is on RC3. Sometimes times is sounds like they are very close to the final release candidate, then at other times it sounds like there is along way to go.
An 8x to 9x conversion tool has been created.

The themes have to be recreated for 9x. How much did you want to change the LEAF theme for 8x, if 8x was selected first? This may be a factor in deciding which branch to take.
