Will someone with Winimage Pro create and post to the LEAF
site at sourceforge.net, a win32 self-extracting blank 1.68Mb
floppy with linux boot sector? I think that it would help LEAF
style floppy developers format and edit floppies while at a client
site (err.. Mom's house!) from her win32 system, for her LEAF
firewall.

I would do this, but don't have the $60 for WinImage Pro.

I did research on creating a GPL win32 1.68Mb floppy formater
and "syslinux"ing the boot sector for linux style boot sector,
with limited results, because I am neither a coder, nor had the
time to lobby for this.

HISTORY:
There is no GPL win32 1.68Mb floppy formatter code.
The highest common denominator floppy size that
Windows (9x/Me/Nt/2k/Xp) can read/write is
1.68Mb, but these OSes format only 1.44Mb.
Although Windows 9x/Me and linux systems
can read/write higher formats such as 1.72Mb,
the Nt/2k/Xp OSes cannot read/write this size.
I have sample win32 formatter C code, from an
old magzine, and notes for those that are interested.

I asked syslinux developer H. Peter Anvin
if he wanted to help, support or advise on updating
the syslinux win32 tool for inserting a linux style boot
sector on to 1.44Mb and 1.68Mb floppies.
He was very NOT interested.

I also asked John Newbigin of "rawwrite
for windows" fame if he had ever considered modifying
his application for 1.68Mb floppies.
He has GPL code called "diskio2.dll" that looks very useful
for a one app fits all win32 flavors, for reading and writing
directly from the disk, possibly useful for 1.68Mb formatting
and adding win32 support for syslinux.

Thought that this would interest all of you.
