Most of the internal functions don't have an explicitly defined behaviour and put to the test they sometimes yield erratic results. They may be fine in their context but unuseable otherwise. I would like to build a library of util functions, which should be the foundation of future enhancements to the user interface. As the most basic functions always worked, this has been neglected IMHO. For example the hwdetect script is written in a way that it _must_ crash on smallish systems, e.g, < 128 MB. I will have a look at your functions and with your permission embed them in a common function library which should be called by all scripts. cheers Erich
