I was actually looking for something that converted from SmartMedia to
IDE, and not CompactFlash to IDE. SM and CF are similar technologies,
but different standards.

Victor's earlier comment about needing either a BIOS to support the
FlashPath or a standard floppy drive to hold a kernel and driver for it
ring true here. BIOS support for this is very doubtful, especially for
the near future. And considering LRP is useful for recycling older
hardware, BIOS support for the FlashPath is a non-issue.

After second thought about this, I really can't see the use in a
standard floppy to load the kernel/driver and the FlashPath. I can't
imagine the need to have so many packages/daemons/files running on the
LRP itself that you'd need all this space. Especially since the goal
is to put the daemons BEHIND the firewall, and not ON it.

For this reason, I have ordered a nice, cheap 8MB Compact Flash and the
$20 CF-IDE converter as seen at http://www.pcengines.com/cflash.htm.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Billy
