All:

I am trying to use the Dachstein RC1 to setup a floppy based firewall. I have
two NICs. Both are Intel eepro cards. eth0 is an interface to the RR
cablemodem service, while eth1 is internal. I have been unable to get the eth0
to configure itself using DHCP from the roadrunner service. It sends out a
DHCPDISCOVER for a while and then gives up. Both the network cards are
recognized without a problem. I have tried several things as suggested in the
archives:
1. Use a different NIC to see if it is an eepro problem. Had the same issue
with the other one too (a 3c905).
2. Powered down the cablemodem to force it to release any MAC address that it
might be storing.

I am not sure what else I can do. Has anyone else seen this problem. I have
looked through the archives, but haven't really found anything useful. Any
info really appreciated.

thanks
prabhakar
