I would like to now extend my second LEAF system, which is acting as a
Samba file server within my private network, and add mail filtering and
"sorting". I want to keep things as simple and small as possible.

Can you help me find an appropriate set of .lrp's ... I think I know
what the solution should look like (see list below), but am hoping there
is a simpler solution out there...

I have a need to sort mail coming into my domain (mydomain.com) to
individual users ([EMAIL PROTECTED] {or [EMAIL PROTECTED]},
[EMAIL PROTECTED], etc) such that each user can pick-up their mail using
netscape on their Win98 machines within our private network. We get our
inbound mail (*@mydomain.com) via a mail server which I can access using
POP3 protocol (through a wireless 802.11b link hosted by my first LEAF
machine which also serves as our firewall). I then need a simple, easy
to maintain, method to sort the mail here on my second Linux (LEAF) box,
on the private network within my firewall. I am not sure that Qmail is
the easiest solution and am VERY open to suggestions. This is what the
picture looks like. My mini-linux server is running a debian stripped
down 2.2.19 kernel (aka Dachstain LEAF) with IDE support. This is on a
486 system which serves as a samba file server for my internal network
of 6 windows computers. There is no need for outbound mail handling,
only inbound "sorting".

Incoming Mail:

Offsite Inbound mail server --(pop)--/(firewall)----> onsite SORT MAIL
TO USERS and FILTER OUT SPAM, etc.---(pop)----> Pick up via individual
user copy of netscape

Outgoing Mail:

Individual user copy of Netscape -(smtp)--/--> direct to offsite mail
server

It seems to me that I need all of the following, but would love to find
a simpler solution:

1- fetchmail - to retrive the incoming mail from my remote server via
POP.
2- sendmail or qmail - to process the incoming mail
3- procmail - to filter the mail and sort it to individual users
4- popd - to make the mailbox files available to the Netscape users via
POP

Anyone done this with LEAF and can point me to the lrps? I have found
an lrp for qmail and one for fetchmail, but none for procmail or popd
yet. Again though, I would like to find a simpler solution.

THANKS!

PS: I will document the final solution so your help goes a long way
after solving my problem...
