Hmmm... strange. I've had that happen when the existing leases were
still valid changing between my local network and my test network.
Generally, releasing the old lease on the client machine works.

The dhclient package is the same package on
both Eigerstein and Dachstein. I wouldn't suspect this problem
since you are probably using the same bpalogin package as well.
You should have had messages in your log file about dhclient starting
and attempting to get a lease.

It could be a lot of things. Maybe your ISP maps MAC addresses or your
over the 255 character limit in syslinux.cfg. In any case, you should
have messages in syslog and messages about dhclient starting.
