I've use the LNE100 cards, I got 4 of them from a package deal that cost me
about $10, including 2 5port network hubs. The tulip driver works fine and
there is really nothing to do. I've also got 2 boxes running the d-link
530tx+, which uses the rtl8139 driver, but I think that it also requires the
pci-scan.o module. Which is fine, but if you are trying to save space, I
think I'd go for the tulip based card. At home, I've got 2 3c515 cards, ISA
10/100, which also work great. Never really had any problems getting any of
those three to work.

Good luck with your decision...

Joey

Subject: [leaf-user] Recommended NICs?

I'm getting ready to set up a LEAF Bering router/firewall and was wondering
which NIC has a more reliable driver: Linksys LNE100 or Netgear FA311.
Unfortunately, those are my only two options and I don't know whether the
tulip driver is considered more stable than the natsemi driver.

Thanks!
