Just for GPs, I tried this too and received the same results. I'm now working
on getting the virtual development environment setup on my debian {testing
version} to try and compile a new set of hostap files. I can get the virtual
system to boot up, but I am unable to mount the host file system or configure
the network interface. What good is a development environment if you can't get
anything into or out of it? It appears that the kernel of the host system does
not have all the right options. I'll keep working on it. I'll let you know if
I can get some new modules compiled.
PS, I just found out that my mail server was down for the last few hours. Exim
hijacked my qmail on the last upgrade and decided to reject all mail, so if
hostap has already been fixed, let me know.
